Bogota, Colombia

The breathtaking cityscape of Bogota awaits you

Your morning will begin with an exhilarating visit to Paloquemao Market, one of Colombia’s largest markets known for its remarkable variety of flowers, exotic fruits, vegetables, medicinal herbs, and traditional food. This cultural experience is one to remember, offering the opportunity to sample some delicious bites! From there, we’ll proceed to La Candelaria to admire its vibrant colonial-style architecture. Then, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and take a leisurely walk around Plaza Bolivar, surrounded by significant buildings such as City Hall, the Congressional Palace, and Independence House. Depending on the day, we might also visit the Gold Museum or the Botero Museum!

  • Please note that appropriate clothing may be required for visits to religious buildings.

Today, you’ll be accompanied to the airport for your flight to Medellín, famously known as the “City of Eternal Spring.” Upon arrival, a team member will welcome and guide you on a captivating tour of this dynamic metropolis. They will share historical insights about how the city started investing in public education and infrastructure in the era that began shortly after the millennium, following the end of Pablo Escobar’s reign. Later, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in and relaxation.

Medellin, once a notorious hub for cartel activity, is now experiencing a vibrant and colorful renaissance

Today, it stands as a global leader in innovation, owing to significant investments in education, infrastructure, and technology. On this day, you’ll explore the world-renowned Comuna 13, a neighborhood adorned with stunning graffiti, artisan shops, cafes, and a line-up of breakdancers and street performers. It has evolved into an exciting tourist destination. You will ride the network of escalators that navigate this extraordinary district, offering you a tangible experience of the social transformation that Medellin has undergone.

Today, you’ll venture to the village of Guatapé and the majestic Peñol Boulder, approximately 49 mi (79 km) from the center of Medellin, encircled by a hand-made lake created in the 1970s. This charming village boasts a kaleidoscope of artistic murals and vibrant cobblestone sidewalks. A popular tourist spot, the breathtaking views from the top of the Boulder justify the thrilling climb complete.

Today’s itinerary includes lunch and all entrance fees.

Today, your journey continues to Cartagena

Our transfer service will pick you up from your hotel and escort you to the airport for your flight to sunny Cartagena. Upon arrival, a team member will greet you and accompany you to your accommodation. They will assist you with the check-in process.

Then, gear up for a private guided tour of Cartagena. You’ll visit landmarks like the Convento de la Popa, a 17th-century wooden chapel that is the city’s highest point.

Later, you’ll explore the Castillo de San Felipe, an imposing fortress known for its intricate tunnel system. Your tour concludes with a stroll through Las Bóvedas, an 18th-century military battery turned tourist attraction, lined with stalls selling art, jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs.

  • Please note that appropriate attire for both men and women is required when visiting religious buildings.

La Boquilla, an ancient fishing village located just 20 minutes north of Cartagena, is home to residents who are descendants of what was previously an Afro-Colombian slave colony.

Today, these inhabitants act as stewards of the verdant mangrove swamps, safeguarded from the Caribbean Sea by a slender peninsula. The tour invites visitors to venture on a traditional wooden canoe and traverse the complex tunnels of the mangroves, offering a glimpse into the captivating wildlife and plant life.

Afterward, we will visit a drumming workshop where you will discover the unique characteristics of various Colombian and Caribbean music styles such as Cumbia, Bullerengue, Mapalé, and Champeta.

Today, we bid farewell. A team member will pick you up from your hotel and escort you to the airport, where you’ll catch your flight home or to your next destination.

We hope you’ve thoroughly enjoyed all the wonders that our Colombia highlights tour package have to offer!
