Day by day

Day 1: Arrive in Bogota / Transfer to Hotel

Welcome to Bogotá, Colombia! 

At the airport, you will be greeted by a member of our team who will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to your hotel. During the ride, you will receive a brief introduction to Bogotá, Colombia, and valuable information regarding your stay there.

Day 2: City Tour with Monserrate Hill & Local Market

The city tour starts with an early morning visit to Paloquemao Market. Continue to explore the historical heart of Bogotá, La Candelaria, with its splendid colonial architecture

After La Candelaria, head east to Monserrate Hill, where you will find a white Catholic church at the top, a pilgrimage site since 1657. The tour ends with a visit to the Botero Museum.

Day 3: Private transfer hotel to international airport + guide / Coffee Triangle

You’ll be transferred to Bogotá’s airport to board your flight to the Coffee Triangle!

The Coffee Triangle is aptly called the “Eje Cafetero,” Colombia’s principal coffee-growing area. This region is formed by the three departments of Caldas, Quindío, and Risaralda. Its spectacular natural beauty makes it one of the most stunning destinations, combining lush green valleys, exotic wildlife, and a pleasant climate.

Day 4: Filandia, Valle del Cocora and Salento

Visit the traditional village of Filandia, where you will enjoy a small-town tour. Explore main attractions such as Plaza Bolívar, the colonial streets, houses, and the typical “fondas” (restaurant bars) to sample the local liquor of the region. Continue with a visit to the beautiful Cocora Valley, the Encanto land in real life, located in the department of Quindío. This majestic valley is home to the wax palm, Colombia’s national tree and the world’s tallest palm trees. Then, witness the “Ritual de la Palma,” a way to help preserve the wax palms. Visitors worldwide have contributed to planting future wax palms at the park, and you can also grow your palm tree for eternity at the Encanto town in Colombia. 

Lastly, explore the town of Salento. Founded in 1842, Salento was one of the first settlements in the Quindío state and remains a vibrant part of the region’s history.

Day 5: Private transfer hotel to airport / Cartagena

Our guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and accompany you to the airport. We will assist you with the check-in at the airline counter to ensure a smooth connection to your next destination.

You have arrived in Cartagena de Indias, one of the most captivating destinations in Colombia. This Caribbean colonial gem was the first Spanish colony on the South American mainland and served as a major port for the Spanish fleet, transforming the city into a significant center of trade in the 16th century.

Embark on a delightful and colorful journey where you can savor some of the city’s local flavors and immerse yourself in its culture. This walking tour will take you through the inner walled section of the colonial city, providing you with an authentic experience of Cartagena, where residents live, eat, and shop.

One of the highlights is the specialized Colombian Rum and chocolate Tasting at El Arsenal. Each grade of rum and chocolate is meticulously selected and paired to offer you a unique sensory experience. Additionally, you will learn about the history of rum and its distillation process while indulging in a selection of light bites from Chef Dau’s menu.

Day 6: City tour + Monuments of Cartagena

The tour begins with a visit to the “Convento de la Popa,” situated at the highest point in Cartagena, offering the best panoramic view of this beautiful city.

Next, continue visiting the “Castillo de San Felipe.” The Spaniards constructed this fortress in the 1600s, and it stands as the most significant and formidable fortification ever built in a Spanish colony.

Following that, you will explore “Las Bóvedas,” a series of 23 vaults constructed in the 18th century. These vaults are considered the final major colonial construction within the city walls, initially built for military purposes.

After the tour, you will visit the “Iglesia y Convento San Pedro de Claver.” San Ignacio de Loyola founded this convent in the early 17th century.

“Getsemaní By Night” invites you to immerse yourself in the tropical rhythms of the Caribbean and experience the vibrant atmosphere of one of Cartagena’s most authentic neighborhoods. Getsemaní, once considered off-limits, has transformed into a must-visit and must-enjoy destination in Cartagena.

Day 7: Transfer to Airport / Farewell!

Our guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and escort you to the airport. We will assist at the airport, including check-in at the airline counter, to ensure a light connection to your next destination.

Terms and Conditions

PRICES All prices are in US Dollars and are subject to change without previous notice. Unless otherwise specified, prices are per person based on two people in a double occupancy room.  

ITINERARY The itineraries are planned with great care. However, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to change the sequence of activities in the itinerary or the specified route, and though such cases are exceptional, in general, the itinerary should be treated only as a basic guideline.  

SERVICES NOT INCLUDED  

The passenger is responsible for obtaining passports, visas, travel insurance, payment of excess baggage, personal requests such as extra drinks, laundry service, communication (calls, faxes, emails, etc.), national and international airport departure taxes, gratuities, or other services and fees not specified in the itinerary.  

UNUSED SERVICES  

Some services may be interrupted or canceled due to climate conditions, force majeure reasons, acts of nature, strikes, etc., or others beyond the control of the hotels, airlines, other suppliers, or Metropolitan Touring Peru or its associates. No reimbursements will be made as a result of such interruptions or cancellations that escape our control.  

INSURANCE  

We highly recommend that passengers get trip cancellation, travel repatriation, and international medical insurance to cover any inconveniences that may arise during the trip. We also urge them to check with their doctor to update vaccines and review medical concerns regarding international travel.  

AIR TICKETS  

Prices of air tickets are subject to change without previous notice until their final issuance. Flight schedules are subject to change by the airline companies up until the day of the flight. The airlines may place additional restrictions, limitations, penalties, and/or specific conditions.  

BOOKING CONDITIONS  

Any reservation must include at least the following information about the passenger(s) or group:  

a. Complete names and surnames  

b. Nationalities  

c. Passport numbers  

d. Dates of Birth  

e. Gender  

f. Dietary restrictions, if any  

FIT/GROUP SIZE DEFINITION  

FIT’s conditions apply to a set of nine or fewer travelers.  

GROUP conditions apply to a set of ten or more travelers.  

PAYMENT CONDITIONS  

Full payment is required on behalf of Metropolitan Touring Colombia:  

  • 45 days before the date of arrival for FITs. 
  • 60 days before the date of arrival for Groups.

Notes: Airfares always require Payment in Advance. 

Please note that depending on the service date, some hotels and suppliers may request an advance payment to guarantee the reservation. Once we have the confirmation from the selected suppliers and hotels, we will inform you if we must receive any deposit in advance. 

Payment constitutes the acceptance of the terms and conditions set out herein.  

*ETICA Empresa Turistica Internacional C.A. reserves the right to charge a fuel supplement without prior notice should the closing price of West Texas Intermediate Fuel increase above USD 70 per barrel on the NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange Index). In the event a fuel supplement is charged, ETICA Empresa Turistica Internacional C.A. will have sole discretion to apply the supplementary charge to both existing and new bookings, regardless of whether such bookings have been paid in full.
