On this morning, you’ll have different options for how you wish to begin: you can either start at the crack of dawn for a hike around the surrounding forest with your guide. Alternatively, you can choose to have a relaxing morning and sleep-in for a little longer, enjoy breakfast at the restaurant and treat yourself to a relaxing massage at our Samay Wellness Center. After that, you can head out into the forest with you your guide.

Following lunch, you and your guide can choose what to do throughout the remainder of the day.

Puerto Ayora & the Charles Darwin Research Station (Santa Cruz Island)

After driving down from the highlands, we will get the chance to visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and the numerous giant tortoises that reside there. Afterward, we will take a stroll down the main street of Puerto Ayora before embarking Yacht Isabela II. After checking in, you’ll be invited to the Captain’s Welcome Cocktail and then dinner.

Day 7: Santa Fe Island/South Plaza Island

Luxury on Land and at Sea: South Plaza

Santa Fe Island

Explore the idyllic white-sand beach of Santa Fe Island, which itself is populated by colonies of sea lions. The brilliantly yellow Santa Fe land iguana, which is exclusive to just this island (in the whole world!), might also be spotted during the walk. Swimming and snorkeling are available here.

South Plaza Island

The turquoise waters of the channel here contrast brilliantly with the white sand beach and volcanic rocks that make up the shoreline. Crawling around this entire scene are the yellow-greyish land iguanas. Along the coastline, we’ll walk right by sea lion colonies while seabirds play along the cliffs of this small but spectacular island.

Day 8: North Seymour Island/Santa Cruz Island

Luxury on Land and at Sea: North Seymour Island

North Seymour Island

Enjoy a walk along the coast and inner area of this beautiful and relatively flat island. Throughout the excursion, you will get to observe numerous bird colonies as well as sea lions and land iguanas. There are opportunities for snorkeling, dinghy coastal exploration or a glass-bottom boat ride for great views of the underwater world.

Las Bachas (Santa Cruz Island)

Las Bachas, located on the north shore of Santa Cruz Island, comes complete with a glorious white-sand beach, with several brackish lagoons only a few steps away from the sea, where flamingos are sometimes found. You are welcome to swim or snorkel from the beach here.

Day 9: Bartolome Island/Santiago Island

Luxury on Land and at Sea: Bartolome island

Bartolome Island

This island is home to Pinnacle Rock and is a great place for all of us to go for a swim and snorkel from the beach. Guests will get to go for a hike to the summit of Pinnacle Rock on this relatively small island, the viewpoint of which boasts fantastic views of the archipelago.

Sullivan Bay (Santiago Island)

After lunch, we will board the dinghy to disembark at Sullivan Bay over on the east coast of Santiago Island. This visitor site comes complete with a white coral-sand beach, which is great for swimming and snorkeling. Additionally, there’s a trail that goes over a lava field that once flowed here less than 100 years ago.

Day 10: Transfer to Airport/Farewell!

Magical Experience of Nature & Hospitality

“…what surpassed my expectations was the level of hospitality and guest service.”

Staying in Mashpi Lodge is a magical experience. There are so many aspects that were wonderful but I think what surpassed my expectations was the level of hospitality and guest service. The entire staff is full of smiles and always seeking to provide you with whatever you need. This is done with great efficiency and communication. […]

I was impressed by the knowledge and safety considerations of all of the guides. […] The private reserve is stunning and the sky bike, dragon fly and various hiking trails and waterfalls allow one to enjoy it all in such a special way. It was convenient to book my stay at Casa Gangotena in Quito in conjunction with Mashpi as it is the same tour group. The Mashpi experience is amazing and unique and has been, without a doubt, the highlight of my vacation in Ecuador. Mil gracias.
