On this day, enjoy a full-day guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in the “City of Kings”. In the Historical Center, see Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral, either the Religious Art Museum or the Santo Domingo Convent, and San Francisco Monastery, with its famous underground crypts.
The tour continues through the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, visiting the Central Park of Miraflores and El Parque del Amor (Love Park). You’ll also stop by the Huaca Pucllana archaeological site, which dates to the II Century AC and was considered by the Incas as a Sacred Town.
Following that, we’ll head to the district of Barranco, heart of the bohemian history of the city. Towards the end of the 19th Century, it became the favourite hangout spot for poets, writers, painters, and sculptors, who were inspired by the coastal scenery. You’ll see the most emblematic symbol of the neighbourhood is the wooden bridge, Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs).
You’ll also walk through Cajamarca, one of the most picturesque and colourful streets, where Las Pallas is located. This is a renowned repository of Peruvian handicrafts where you can admire and/or buy a great variety of artisan goods, such as tapestries and ceramics.
The tour continues over at the Larco Herrera Museum and Hacienda, where you’ll get to admire one of the best collections of pre-Columbian art in the country. You’ll also get to walk around the hacienda itself, which was built over a sacred pre-Incan site that is located in the Pueblo Libre District. Afterward, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at the museum’s café.
At the end of the tour you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Lima.
