Day by Day Vacation Package to Colombia

Day 1: Welcome to Bogota!

Bogotá is Colombia’s capital city; it is a cosmopolitan center of sophistication and has become an epicenter for business, politics, and entertainment.

One of our team members will greet you upon arriving at El Dorado International Airport. Our guide will escort you to your hotel and assist you with check-in. They’ll also provide a detailed itinerary of all the services included in your trip, along with other helpful information.

Day 2: City Tour + Zipaquira's Underground Salt Cathedral + Lunch

Today’s tour starts with a panoramic drive to Zipaquirá, Colombia’s salt mining capital on the outskirts of Bogotá. Here, you’ll visit the famous underground salt cathedral carved inside a 250 million-year-old salt mine.

Afterward, we’ll show you around the beautiful city of Bogota, its charming Candelaria colonial-style neighborhood, and other points of interest, like the impressive Bolivar Plaza.

Day 3: Inspiration Coffee

Today, you’ll fly from the nation’s capital to another capital, the Coffee Triangle, where Colombia’s most famous export is primarily cultivated.

Our team will meet you at the local airport in Pereira and take you over to your hotel.

Once you’re settled in, we’ll head out to nearby Armenia and Calarcá for a tour and tasting experience at a delightful coffee hacienda!

Also, you overnight around La Tebaida, in the middle of the imposing Quindian landscape and surrounded by nature, color, and mountains.

Day 4: Salento & Cocora Valley

On this day, we’ll head out to beautiful Cocora Valley, home to one of the tallest palm trees in the world! We’ll go on a guided walk of the area while learning about its rich and natural ecosystem.

Following that, we’ll head to the town of Salento, which was one of the first settlements in the region and still boasts some colorful colonial architecture.

Day 5: Arrival in Cali + Guided City Tour

Today, it’s off to Cali

Our team will meet you at the airport and assist you with your accommodations and check-in. Afterward, enjoy a tour of this bustling and beautiful city. Along the way, you’ll see Ermita Church, Caycedo Square, the Municipal Theater, Calima Gold Museum, and the colonial-style neighborhood of San Antonio.

Day 6: Sugar Cane, Pineapple and Ancestral Trapiches

Today, start an extraordinary journey through Cali’s stunning agricultural landscapes. Our exploration begins with a visit to a vibrant sugar cane farm where we will gain insight into the fascinating production of panela, or brown sugar, a staple in many households.

Next, we’ll visit a pineapple field and taste this delicious fruit before enjoying lovely cacti landscapes and a bowl of traditional sancocho.

Day 7: Charming Cartagena + Tour of San Felipe Castle

You’ll say goodbye to Cali’s landscapes and hello to the Colombian Caribbean Coast, and in particular, Cartagena

A team member will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.

Once you’re settled in, it’s off to San Felipe de Barajas Castle, one of the strongest forts ever built for a Spanish colony.

Next, we’ll head to Las Bovedas – a former armory-turned-marketplace lined with artisanal crafts, jewelry, and antiques.

Afterward, we’ll take a lovely walk through Cartagena’s old town.

Day 8: La Boquilla Mangroves & Typical Dances Workshop

Our tour begins with a visit to “La Boquilla,” an ancient fishing village situated twenty minutes north of Cartagena. Once a slave colony, this community is now home to many Afro-Colombian residents.

Nestled on a slender peninsula, La Boquilla is located among crystal clear waters of the Colombian Caribbean Sea and the “Ciénaga de la Virgen“—a vast lake surrounded by mangrove swamps.

We’ll embark on a traditional canoe for a serene journey through the mangroves, providing you with an opportunity to witness the unique fauna and flora inhabiting this singular ecosystem.

In the latter part of the day, we’ll transition to a vibrant dance and drum workshop. Here, you’ll be treated to live music and get acquainted with the exhilarating rhythms and sounds of Champeta, a musical style predominantly native to this region.

Day 9: Colombia bids you farewell!

Today, we’ll pick you up at your hotel and bring you over to the airport so that you can catch your flight to your next destination.

Terms and Conditions

PRICES All prices are in US Dollars and are subject to change without previous notice. Unless otherwise specified, prices are per person based on two people in a double occupancy room.  

ITINERARY The itineraries are planned with great care. However, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to change the sequence of activities in the itinerary or the specified route, and though such cases are exceptional, in general, the itinerary should be treated only as a basic guideline.  

SERVICES NOT INCLUDED  

The passenger is responsible for obtaining passports, visas, travel insurance, payment of excess baggage, personal requests such as extra drinks, laundry service, communication (calls, faxes, emails, etc.), national and international airport departure taxes, gratuities, or other services and fees not specified in the itinerary.  

UNUSED SERVICES  

Some services may be interrupted or canceled due to climate conditions, force majeure reasons, acts of nature, strikes, etc., or others beyond the control of the hotels, airlines, other suppliers, or Metropolitan Touring or its associates. No reimbursements will be made as a result of such interruptions or cancellations that escape our control.  

INSURANCE  

We highly recommend that passengers get trip cancellation, travel repatriation, and international medical insurance to cover any inconveniences that may arise during the trip. We also urge them to check with their doctor to update vaccines and review medical concerns regarding international travel.  

AIR TICKETS  

Prices of air tickets are subject to change without previous notice until their final issuance. Flight schedules are subject to change by the airline companies up until the day of the flight. The airlines may place additional restrictions, limitations, penalties, and/or specific conditions.  

BOOKING CONDITIONS  

Any reservation must include at least the following information about the passenger(s) or group:  

a. Complete names and surnames  

b. Nationalities  

c. Passport numbers  

d. Dates of Birth  

e. Gender  

f. Dietary restrictions, if any  

FIT/GROUP SIZE DEFINITION  

FIT’s conditions apply to a set of nine or fewer travelers.  

GROUP conditions apply to a set of ten or more travelers.  

PAYMENT CONDITIONS  

Full payment is required on behalf of Metropolitan Touring Colombia:  

  • 45 days before the date of arrival for FITs. 
  • 60 days before the date of arrival for Groups.

Notes: Airfares always require Payment in Advance. 

Please note that depending on the service date, some hotels and suppliers may request an advance payment to guarantee the reservation. Once we have the confirmation from the selected suppliers and hotels, we will inform you if we must receive any deposit in advance. 

Payment constitutes the acceptance of the terms and conditions set out herein.
