Day by Day

Day 1: Arrive in Bogota / Transfer to Hotel

Welcome to Bogota, Colombia! At the El Dorado International Airport, you will be greeted by a member of our team who will assist you with your luggage and transfer to Sofitel Victoria Regia Hotel. Upon arriving to the hotel, our team member will help you with checking-in and will present you with your detailed itinerary containing all the services that are included throughout the following days.

Day 2: Bogota City Tour + Zipaquira Tour

Today begins with a panoramic view of the city of Bogota as we head out on our way to Zipaquira. Once we get there, we’ll head underground to experience the extraordinary Salt Cathedral, impressively carved out of an active salt mine that formed some 250 million years ago. Following that, we’ll enjoy a walk through the town of Zipaquira itself, where you’ll get to admire its beautiful architecture.

Afterward, we’ll head to La Candelaria, which is the historic center of the city. During our tour of this part of the city, we’ll get to examine some of the most important structures in Bogota that are teeming with history and remarkable architecture.

Lunch will be served at a typical restaurant where you’ll get to enjoy delicious Colombian fare. After that, we’ll visit the Gold Museum and the Botero Museum.

At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred back to Sofitel Bogota Victoria Regia Hotel. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 3: Transfer to Airport / Arrive in Medellin / Transfer to Hotel / Medellin City Tour

On this day you’ll take your transfer to Bogota’s airport to board your flight to Medellin!

Upon arriving at the Jose Maria Cordova Airport in Medellin, you’ll be greeted by a member of our team that will assist you with your transfer to the Marriott Hotel.

Once you’ve been checked in and gotten settled in, we’ll head out on our tour of Medellin, beginning with the Historic Center, followed by Berrio Park and Botero Plaza. After that, we’ll take the Metro Cable (gondola lift) up to Santo Domingo, where you’ll get to witness the dramatic social and cultural transformation that Medellin has experienced throughout the years.

At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred back to the Marriott Hotel. Overnight in Medellin.

Day 4: Santa Elena + Rock of Guatape Tour

On this day, we’ll head to the flower village of Santa Elena, located high up in the mountains of Antioquia. This village is known for its extravagant flower arrangements that serve as one of Medellin’s most famous symbols, too. Here, we’ll visit an organic flower farm, enjoy the local food, and enjoy the traditional culture.

After that, we’ll travel along green hills to reach the Rock of Guatape – one of the most spectacular destinations in the surrounding area of Medellin – and begin our ascent up this 220-meter (720-foot) monolith by means of its 740 steps. Up top, we’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding areas which consist of green mountains, lush islets, and emerald blue waters.

At the end of the tour you’ll be transferred back to Medellin and dropped off at the Marriot Hotel. Overnight in Medellin.

Day 5: Transfer to Airport / Arrive in Cartagena / Transfer to Hotel

On this day, after a brief Graffiti Tour, you’ll be transferred to Medellin’s Jose Maria Cordova International Airport to board your flight to Cartagena!

Once you land in Rafael Nunez Airport in Cartagena you will be greeted by a member of our team who will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to the Charleston Santa Teresa Hotel. Overnight in Cartagena.

Day 6: Cartagena

On this morning, we’ll visit the La Popa Monastery, located up on the highest mountain in the whole city. Once there, we’ll get to enjoy one of the best views in Cartagena before visiting the San Felipe de Barajas Castle.

This castle was regarded as one of the strongest forts ever built for a Spanish colony. Afterward, we’ll head to Las Bovedas – a former ammunition depot that now functions as a marketplace for artisanal, jewelry, and antique shops. At the end of this part of the tour, we’ll enjoy a lovely walk through the historic center of Cartagena. During this last activity, you’ll get to soak in the cultural and architectural beauty of the city!

At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred back to the Charleston Santa Teresa Hotel. Overnight in Cartagena.

Day 7: Day at leisure in Cartagena

On this day, you’ll be free to relax and spend it at your leisure. So take advantage of the time to relax, go shopping, and/or enjoy the pleasant coastal vibes of Cartagena!

Day 8: Transfer to Airport / Farewell!

On this day, we’ll pick you up at the Charleston Santa Teresa Hotel and transfer you to the Rafael Nunez Airport so that you can board your flight back home. Our team member will assist you with this process.
