It is no mystery that our lives drastically changed this past year, from how we communicate with one another to how we plan a trip. And it is true that now, more than ever, many questions arise when deciding to travel during these times. For instance, what are the entry requirements for the country I want to visit? What guidelines do I need to follow? Is the tour operator implementing protocols to ensure my safety during the trip? It’s okay to ask yourself all these questions before traveling; we think it makes sense. It is just one more reason why we at MetroJourneys want to tell you about all the measures we are observing to safeguard our passengers and help them to feel confident about planning a trip with us.
In the past several months, Metrojourneys has gone to great lengths to review and update our biosafety protocols in accordance with expert guidelines from Colombian government entities in charge of disease control. The goal is simple and consistent: establish the necessary measures to minimize and avoid the contagion and spread of COVID-19 to guarantee the safety of travelers and service providers throughout every experience.
We understand that planning your trip as the pandemic appears to be rounding a corner can seem a bit overwhelming, given all the factors that we’ve never before had to consider. At Metrojourneys, we, along with our guides and tour operators, are committed to complying with each of the different measures and guidelines provided by the Government of Colombia to protect the health of our travelers. We have implemented the following protocols as part of your experience with us:
We have excellent news! In Colombia, there is no mandatory quarantine upon arrival.
Nevertheless, the Colombian Health Department recently updated specific entry requirements that all passengers must follow to enter Colombia as of June 2, 2021. These include:
To protect our passengers from contracting the virus while visiting public sites, we have established strict rules that all guides and tour operators must follow:
Apart from our tour guides and drivers, our partner hotels are key allies in preventing and safeguarding against the spread of COVID-19 among travelers. Understanding the importance of their role, we have held meetings and virtual tours of many of our clients’ preferred hotels to make sure they are complying with official guidelines for lodging facilities. These regulations include:
As part of their responsibility, our Operations Team has been carrying out regular inspections to verify that our providers are following national biosafety guidelines in compliance with our protocols. They have also been inspecting tourist attractions to verify this same compliance. This effort has helped us to keep a record of the measures being observed and implemented by our key partners so that we may better analyze their impact on our operations.
We believe that the above regulations, in conjunction with our constant efforts to improve our service, will allow us to be successful in our operations as we aim to provide our customers with the highest quality standards of service.
We understand that the process of adjusting to our new reality is not easy. That said, travel continues to be one of the most healing, enlightening, and reinvigorating activities around. Visiting a new place for the first time can teach you a lot about yourself in addition to providing much-needed enjoyment. That is why we are working very hard to make your experience with us truly unforgettable. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our passengers along every part of their journey with us. We are ready, and the only thing missing is you!
